I have for many many years, probably all my life, had depression and I feel that the two combine and make each other worse and worse. I don't have a link to the study, but there is a correlation between higher functioning autism and depression. Lots of people struggle with depression. I think it's part of the human condition. There are plenty of negative things to focus on in one's life, no matter who you are.
